"Beijing+30: Women’s Rights in a Changing World" Panel

On March 11, 2025, a Panel titled “Beijing+30: Women’s Rights in a Changing World” was held in collaboration with the Finnish Embassy.

The Panel began with an opening speech by Ms. Tarja Halonen, former President of Finland and head of the Finnish delegation at the 1995 Beijing Women's Conference. It continued with presentations by Mariam Khan, UNFPA Representative to Türkiye; Zeliha Ünaldı, Acting Head of Office at UN Women Türkiye; Corneliu Eftodi, Regional Advisor on Gender Equality, Europe and Central Asia at UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub; and Hilal Döner, Human Rights Education Programme Manager at Amnesty International.

The event served as an important platform to discuss women's rights in a changing world and to foster solidarity among ambassadors, diplomats, organizations focused on gender equality, and students and staff from TED University.
