"Feminist Foreign Policy: Rights, Representation, Resources, and Reality in Türkiye" is Now Accesible

We are pleased to announce our new publication prepared as part of the sustainability efforts of the Digital Feminist Foreign Policy School project, which we carry out in collaboration with the Heinrich Böll Stiftung Türkiye Office: "Feminist Foreign Policy: Rights, Representation, Resources, and Reality in Türkiye."
Implemented in partnership with the TED University Center for Gender Studies and the Heinrich Böll Stiftung Türkiye Office, this work serves as a pioneering resource that systematically addresses feminist foreign policy discussions in Türkiye.
Inviting us to rethink foreign policy beyond the traditional axis of security, power, and national interest, our work applies the core principles of feminist foreign policy—specifically, rights, representation, resources, and reality—to the Turkish context. It critically evaluates Türkiye's foreign policy practices through international law, relations with the European Union, sustainable development, the Women, Peace, and Security agenda, and feminist security studies.
The book argues that a feminist foreign policy is neither "utopian" nor "unrealistic" for Türkiye; rather, it offers a strong and practical framework for a human-centered, just, inclusive, and peace-oriented vision of foreign policy. Given Türkiye’s geopolitical position, experience in humanitarian diplomacy, and its role in migration and crisis management, this publication opens up significant discussions both normatively and practically.
Prepared with the valuable contributions of Birgül Demirtaş, Zuhal Yeşilyurt Gündüz, Pelin Sönmez, Zehra Yılmaz, and Burcu Sarı Karademir, this compilation serves as a guide for academic literature as well as for policymakers, diplomats, civil society actors, students, and anyone interested in approaching foreign policy discussions from a gender perspective.
