In Turkey, women are subjected to violence and killed simply because they are women and "trying to exist." Discrimination stemming from gender roles continues to disproportionately affect women and children. Meanwhile, we sadly observe posts attempting to explain these murders by referencing the psychological problems and private lives of the perpetrators.

Individual and psychological factors cannot explain the mass murder of women! Power relations and gender inequality that have manifested throughout history are the most significant socio-political reasons for male violence.
