Internship Announcement

Our center will accept interns to be assigned for 20 working days between 13 January and 7 February 2025.
Those who want to work as interns at our center are expected to
- Be sensitive to gender equality and interested in gender studies and discussions,
- Have completed at least the first two years of their undergraduate education and
- Be able to regularly participate in studies online or face-to-face for 20 working days.
The studies to be carried out during the internship process are as follows:
Motherhood Study
This study will explore the concept of “motherhood” as both a patriarchal institution and a feminist experience, focusing on the themes of “academic motherhood” and representations of motherhood on Netflix. To participate in this study, we prefer candidates who are graduate students in social sciences fields such as sociology, communication, and political science.
Social Media and Body Language Study
In this study, an analysis of women's body language through machine learning on social media will be conducted and compared with social anthropology theories. To participate in this study, we prefer candidates who are either undergraduate or graduate students in computer, software, or mechanical engineering, as well as graduate students in social sciences and/or communication.
Political Masculinity Study
This study will investigate the role of political masculinities in constructing traditionalism and “Ottomanism.” To participate in this study, we prefer candidates who are third or fourth-year undergraduate students or graduate students in political science.
Gender Roles in National Curriculum Study
This study will analyze the gender roles in the new mathematics programs for primary and secondary schools within the framework of the Turkey Education Model. To participate in this study, we prefer candidates who are third or fourth-year undergraduate students in teacher education programs in the faculties of education, undergraduate students in sociology, communication, and political science, or graduate students enrolled in Curriculum and Instruction Master's Programs.
The internship will be conducted hybrid (face-to-face or online) with interns residing in Ankara and online with interns outside Ankara. If you want to apply, you can send us your letter of intent explaining why you are interested in the internship at our center, the field of study you want to be involved in (please specify only one study), and your expectations from the internship experience. The letter of intent must be submitted as a Word or PDF file.
