Happy Women in Translation Month!

August is Women in Translation Month - a movement initiated by Meytal Radzinski in 2014, celebrating women writers, translators and their translated works across the world. And we are celebrating this month with this study, prepared as part of TEDU Center for Gender Studies, 2021-2022 Academic Year Winter Term

"A Netnographic Analysis of Ayşe Arman’s News Series on Berfin Özek, A Victim of Acid Attack" with Dr. Burcu Asena-Salman

Netnography is a new method that involves conducting ethnographic analysis on digital platforms using existing data. Dr. Burcu Asena-Salman, one of the first researchers to use Netnography in Turkey for her doctoral thesis, used this method to analyze the news about Berfin Özek and the comments from followers that Ayşe Arman has posted on her Instagram column since 2019. Dr. Asena-Salman examined over 3000 comments made under each post to understand society's perspective on violence against women.
