Our center will accept interns to be assigned for 20 working days between 16 January - 10 February 2023.
Those who want to work as interns at our center are expected to
- Be sensitive to gender equality and interested in gender studies and discussions,
- Have completed at least the first two years of their undergraduate education, and
- Be able to regularly participate in studies online or face-to-face for 20 working days.
The studies to be carried out during the internship process are as follows:
1.The Study of the Media Representation of Syrian Women:
- In this study, quantitative and qualitative analysis of the mainstream and alternative media representations of Syrian women who have immigrated to Turkey will be carried out. For this study, it will be preferable to have a good command of English, to have a basic social science education and to be a graduate student if possible.
2. The Study of Care Work in Academia:
- In this study, a survey will be designed and conducted about the time devoted to care work (time-use survey) in the Turkish academic community. For this study, it will be preferable to be a graduate student in the international relations/political science departments of different universities.
3. The Study on “the Mainstreaming of Aging” in Rights-Based NGOs Working in the Field of Gender Equality
- For this study, it will be preferable to be interested in and want to study on the issues of gender and aging, as well as a general command of rights-based NGOs in Turkey. The candidate is expected to know Turkish.
4. The Study of Masculine Politics:
- In this study, the speech and statements of the Presidents of the Republic of Turkey will be analyzed. For this study, it will be preferable to be a student in Political Science and/or International Relations departments and be interested in gender and political life in Turkey.
5. The Study of Religion and Women:
- In this study, a literature review and internet search will be carried out on women who take off their headscarf. For this study, it will be preferable to be a student in Political Science or Sociology departments.
6. Translation Studies
- In this study, translations of the Center's works into English will be carried out. For this study group, students who have completed the first two years of English/American Language and Literature, English Translation and Interpreting Departments or have graduated from these departments will be preferred. After the applications are received, a text will be sent to the candidates and evaluations will be made on the translation of this text.
The internship process will be conducted hybrid (face-to-face or online) with interns residing in Ankara and online with interns residing outside Ankara.
